Water can be classified into two general
categories: "bound" and "clustered." Typically,
water is found in large conglomerates (groupings of unorganized
water molecules) which are too large to move freely into the
cells of the human body. This is commonly referred to as "bound"
water. These masses of water are large and bulky on the molecular
scale (see illustration A). Tap water, naturally occurring
water (i.e. lakes, streams, ocean, etc), and even purified
water that you purchase at the store is comprised of this
bound water.
